BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Greater Mankato Growth has a number of programs that help businesses build, grow and thrive in Greater Mankato. The Greater Mankato Business Accelerator gives start-ups the tools they need to succeed.  Greater Mankato Growth is also committed to providing existing businesses with all the information they need to succeed, most of which is available in the Business Development area of this website and by providing a variety of Professional Development Programs, including the: Professional Growth Series and Sakatah Institute of Greater Mankato.  Marketplace positioning efforts are also a high priority for Greater Mankato Growth, promoting all the area has to offer, through a variety of campaigns and Publications.

TRADE & TRAFFIC

Greater Mankato Growth is committed to enhancing commercial transactions, through popular events and programs.  Greater Mankato Growth also utilizes its organizational resources to help other community groups organizations build trade and traffic opportunities in their respective areas of focus, including serving as the convener for the City Center Business Association.  

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Envision 2020 is a citizen-created strategic plan for creating a promising future. GMG a serves as a  catalyst to help other community groups to organize and meet the E2020 goals they are working on as well as compile, organize and share the results of each groups efforts with the other groups and the community at large.  As the area's chamber of commerce and economic development organization, Greater Mankato Growth also has taken responsibility for implementing specific aspects of the E2020 plan related to community development impacting the business community and workforce. These include:

• Talent Development, Attraction & Retention - Recognizing that the continued vitality of Greater Mankato depends on having talented individuals, Greater Mankato Growth has a Talent Initiatives Director solely dedicated to this important role.  Through programs like the Collegiate Leadership Academy, Greater Mankato Young Professionals and Leadership Institute we're providing development opportunities for our community's current and future leaders, which will enhance Greater Mankato's vitality for years to come. 
• K-12 Career & Technical Education - Greater Mankato Growth partners with the Mankato Area Public Schools and other school districts to share in the work of developing a talented future workforce.  Through a variety of efforts, including the annual Greater Mankato Career Fair and partnership programs with area businesses and higher education institutions, we're ensuring our future workforce is a strong and vital asset of our future economy.
