2020 Songs on the Lawn Postponed – Beginning July 9

MANKATO, MINN (April 20, 2020) - Greater Mankato Growth is proud to announce the 17th annual Songs on the Lawn – the popular summer commencement featuring music, entertainment and local food. Songs on the Lawn is presented by Xcel Energy. Typically, this free community event takes place each Thursday in June from 11 am - 1 pm at Civic Center Plaza. However, this year it is postponed due to delays caused by Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will take place each Thursday in July, beginning on July 9, 2020. Parking is available around the city center free of charge.

 

This year’s musical lineup includes:

  • July 9, Mark Joseph & The American Soul
  • July 16, Jeremy Poland Band
  • July 23, Irie Minds
  • July 30, Chemistry Set

Songs on the Lawn is a community event for co-workers, families and friends to gather and enjoy sun, entertainment, activities and food. Attendees may purchase lunch and snacks sold by a variety of local vendors including Dairy Queen, Dino’s Gourmet Pizzeria, Flask, Olives, Pita Pit, Pub 500, Number 4 American Bar & Kitchen, Tavern on the Avenue and Wooden Spoon.

Songs on the Lawn is produced by Greater Mankato Growth and sponsored by Xcel Energy. Band support is provided by KMSU through the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment.
