Edina, MN – March 4, 2025 – Abdo LLP, a leading full-service accounting and advisory firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Abigail (Abby) Smith, CPA, CMA as its first-ever Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Abby is rejoining Abdo after having previously worked with the firm for three and a half years, during which time she served in Abdo’s nonprofit division. Most recently, she was the Director, Corporate Controller, and Treasurer at Intricon Corporation, a manufacturer of sensor-driven micromedical devices. “We’re delighted to have Abby back on our team and taking on this new role,” said Steve McDonald, Abdo Managing Partner. “Our business has become more complex with increased volume, making the role of the CFO essential. Abby will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations and contributing to our strategic planning.”
Abby earned a master’s degree in accounting from Minnesota State University, Mankato, where she also completed her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), with more than 10 years of progressive experience in both client-facing and internal financial management
A Minnesota native, Abby grew up in East Bethel. She and her husband Andrew have two young daughters and live in Maple Grove.
