MANKATO, Minn.—Greater Mankato welcomes the Minnesota Vikings back to Mankato for the 52nd Annual Vikings Training Camp July 23 through August 8.

According to the Vikings Training Camp website, select quarterbacks, rookies and players who have yet to accrue a season and select injured players will report July 23 to camp at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The rest of the players will report July 26. The first full team practice will be July 27.

Welcome the Vikings to town from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 26 in front of the Julia Sears building on the MSU, Mankato campus. There is free visitor parking in lot 4. This Welcome Event is the best day and place to score a Vikings autograph. Radio Mankato will have on-site music and lawn games, and Pepsi will provide complimentary beverages.

As part of Greater Mankato being adorned in purple and white while the Vikings are in town, show off your purple pride by getting a 2017 Training Camp shirt for $15. Shirts can be ordered at the Visit Mankato office or an order form can be downloaded from vikingsmankato.com. Orders are due June 28.

Fans looking to show off their Training Camp fever can use the hashtag #paintkatopurple on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to show photos of themselves at camp and around town and dressed in their Vikings best. Every other day, Visit Mankato will award prizes to the person who displays the best Vikings spirit.

To show the community’s Vikings fever, businesses are encouraged to enter the Vikings Spirit Contest. The business that bleeds Vikings colors the proudest will be awarded Vikings memorabilia from Viktor himself, as well as a pizza party for up to 20 people at Jake’s Stadium Pizza. The deadline to enter the Vikings Spirit Contest is July 25. From July 26 to 5 p.m. July 31, businesses will be voted on by the social media community. New to the contest this year, the two with the most votes (Facebook likes), along with a wildcard pick by Visit Mankato, will be in the finals. Finalists will be announced on social media August 1.
