I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I was the third of four children, my father was a carpenter, and my mother was a nurse. After graduating from High School, I attended and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. I married my husband Mark in 1983 while completing his residency training in Family Medicine, and in 1987, we moved to St Peter, MN, to join a medical practice in the St Peter Clinic. Our son, John David, graduated from St Peter High School in 1993 and is the father of our two grandchildren, Jackson and Anna. He currently practices law in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I have worked in several areas of nursing, including med-surg, emergency, outpatient clinics, and hospice. I have furthered my education towards a master’s degree in nursing at Minnesota State University in the Nurse Practitioner program. I have also completed two years of study at the Minnesota School of Ministry.
My hobbies include water sports (skiing, kayaking), piano playing for pleasure, gardening, and time with family and friends.
