E. Forsyth Named First-Ever Talent Resources Liaison at Greater Mankato Growth

MANKATO, MINN. (January 2, 2019) – Emmy Forsyth, a Mankato native who has spent eight years working in southern California, will return to Mankato to serve as Greater Mankato Growth’s first-ever Talent Resources Liaison. Ms. Forsyth will begin working remotely January 21, while moving her family back to Mankato; with her physical presence here no later than March 1.

This appointment brings to life to a recent GMG Board action to fund this new position in order to accelerate the organization’s efforts to ensure that area employers have the talent they need to continue to grow and advance their businesses.

In her new capacity, Ms. Forsyth will become the lead staff responsible for connecting employers with available talent. She will also identify and activate other distinct talent resources available across the region to support the full talent continuum from recruitment to retention and succession planning.

Ms. Forsyth comes to Greater Mankato Growth with extensive educational and professional experience in Organizational Leadership and Development. This will allow her to immediately begin the process of fostering the change process and strategic planning needed to provide talent solutions that have previously been non-existent. This change will add significant organizational value to a variety of talent development opportunities for the members of Greater Mankato Growth.

“I was struck immediately by Ms. Forsyth’s passion, knowledge and resources in the talent and workforce space as well as her ability to cause one to think differently,” said Jonathan Zierdt, President and CEO of Greater Mankato Growth, Inc. “She offered a fresh perspective and distinguished herself during our interview stages with her ability to nurture relationships, focus on and bring forward specific solutions to a customer, while leveraging a vast field of resources and resource providers. And I’m overjoyed she represents a target talent pool for this region – boomerangs.”

“The Greater Mankato Growth Executive Talent Council is excited to begin working with Ms. Forsyth to implement the variety of initiatives we’ve identified to attract new talent to the region as well as more effectively promote the opportunities available within the region,” said Council Chair, Charlie Whitaker. “Her passion and high energy will bring a new sense of urgency and heightened focus to this critical community need,” said Whitaker.

“Greater Mankato Growth has built a powerhouse talent council dedicated to the economic growth and development of Mankato. I immediately wanted to be a part of it,” Ms. Forsyth said. “I intend to bring my years of experience in employee learning, organization development and strategic planning to work side by side with business leaders as they prepare for growth in the workforce. I can’t wait to hit the ground running on this new initiative.”
