First Greater Mankato Songs on the Lawn a Success

(June 6, 2013) MANKATO, MINN. -  The crowd enjoyed music from The Bitterroot Band today, Thursday, June 6, at the 10th annual Songs on the Lawn presented by Xcel Energy. The rain stayed away as the children were entertained with activities by the Mankato Family YMCA and Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota. The chilly weather made it possible to dance, hula hoop and sing along to popular tunes from The Bitterroot Band without breaking a sweat.

Attendees enjoyed a delicious variety of food from local vendors including: Angie’s Kettle Corn, Buffalo Wild Wings, Hy-Vee, Olives, Pub 500, The Loose Moose Saloon, Sodexo, Culver’s Frozen Custard, Dino’s Gourmet Pizzeria, Neighbor’s Italian Bistro, Number 4 American Bar & Kitchen, and Tavern on the Avenue.

Next Thursday, June 13, Greater Mankato Songs on the Lawn will feature the returning performers, The DW3. This event is held every Thursday in June from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Civic Center Plaza. Bring the family to this fun and free summer activity with great music, food and entertainment.

This year’s Greater Mankato Songs on the Lawn presented by Xcel Energy is sponsored by MTU Onsite Energy, Pepsi-Cola of Mankato and Radio Mankato. For more information, please visit greatermankato.com/songs-lawn.
