Greater Mankato Growth Announces Spring Public Affairs Forum Series

Mankato, MINN (March 20, 2015) – Greater Mankato Growth (GMG) is excited to announce the first three events in the 2015 Public Affairs Forum Series presented by Enventis. The Forum Series is a series of 8-10 events per year that brings together compelling speakers and business leaders to discuss timely and relevant political and policy issues.

Luncheon with Minnesota Revenue Commissioner Cynthia Bauerly
Monday, March 30, 2015 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Country Inn & Suites Hotel & Conference Center, 1900 Premier Drive, Mankato, MN

Commissioner Bauerly will share her perspective on the “State of Minnesota’s Tax System,” discuss the Governor’s tax priorities this Legislative session and update attendees on any changes/proposed changes to Minnesota’s business tax law. 

Luncheon with Minnesota State Demographer Dr. Susan Brower
Thursday, April 16, 2015 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Mankato City Center Hotel, 101 East Main Street, Mankato, MN

The ability of our region to attract and retain a talented workforce is a top priority for our entire community. Attendees at this event will hear Dr. Brower's perspective on the current demographic trend’s shaping the state and the impact these trends will have on the labor force/talent. Dr. Brower will also offer data about our particular region (Blue Earth County & Nicollet County).

Attendees at this event will hear Dr. Kalambokidis' perspective on the state of Minnesota's economy. What's happening in agriculture? What's happening in manufacturing? What are the positive and negative trends impacting the state's growth? Dr. Kalambokidis will provide her expert assessment on all of these questions and more.
