Greater Mankato Growth to Hold Candidate Forums

MANKATO,  Minn. (September 19, 2012) – This election season, Greater Mankato Growth (GMG) will once again host a series of candidate forums aimed at providing an opportunity for meaningful exchange between candidates and voters in areas impacting business and the overall vitality of the region.

Greater Mankato Growth has five forums scheduled thus far:

Nicollet County Commissioner Candidate Forum - October 2, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Saint Peter Community Center, Governors Room, 600 S. Fifth Street, Saint Peter
(hosted by Greater Mankato Growth, Saint Peter Chamber of Commerce and League of Women Voters Saint Peter)

MN House of Representatives District 19B Candidate Forum - October 2, 7:15 - 8:15 p.m.
Minnesota State University, Mankato - Centennial Student Union, Rooms 253-255, Mankato

Mankato City Council Candidate Forum - October 4, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Mankato City Center Hotel, 101 East Main St., Mankato, MN

North Mankato City Council and Mayor Candidate Forum - October 10, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
South Central College, Heritage Hall, 1920 Lee Blvd., Mankato

Blue Earth County Commissioner Candidate Forum - October 17, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
AmericInn Hotel & Conference Center, 240 Stadium Road

All the candidates in the above races have confirmed their participation in these forums. Complete information on these GMG hosted events, as well as details on other candidate events, is available on the “Forums & Events” page of greatermankatoelections.com, a special area of the Greater Mankato Growth website dedicated specifically to providing election information. On this site, voters are encouraged to submit questions they would like GMG to ask the candidates at the forums. “We hope many members of the business community ask questions and turn out for these forums, so that candidates are able to get the full spectrum of ideas from throughout the marketplace,” said Greater Mankato Growth President & CEO Jonathan Zierdt.
