Greater Mankato Young Professionals to Host Nonprofit Leadership Workshop
MANKATO, MINN (July 27, 2015) – More than 50 members of the Greater Mankato Young Professionals, a program of Greater Mankato Growth, will participate in a Nonprofit Leadership Workshop this Wednesday, July 29 from 8 am – Noon in Heritage Hall at South Central College, 1920 Lee Blvd., North Mankato.
“Young professionals today want to have an active role in the development of the community in which they live and work. This event will provide them with information to help accelerate their knowledge of what to expect in various volunteer leadership roles,” said Talent Programs Director, Shannon Gullickson.
The half-day event will give the Greater Mankato Young Professionals an opportunity to learn about the expectations and responsibilities of nonprofit board members and committee chairs. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with several area nonprofit executives and board leaders during breakout sessions.
Gullickson added, “This event was planned entirely by committee members of the Greater Mankato Young Professionals. They are really excited to help their peers further their knowledge about volunteer leadership opportunities across the region.”
