J. Sprague Named Director of Business & Community Relations for Greater Mankato Growth

MANKATO, MINN. (January 3, 2019) – Jaci Sprague, the 2018 Greater Mankato Growth Young Professional of the Year, will begin February 1 as the Director of Business & Community Relations for Greater Mankato Growth.

While not a new position at Greater Mankato Growth, it is a redesign of the previous Member Relations Director position. Ms. Sprague’s primary responsibility will be to build and maintain positive relationships with Greater Mankato area businesses and gain insights on their changing needs and trends, and in doing so connect them to resources and professional services that will enable them to enhance their vitality.

In addition, a critical need of businesses today is supporting their talent attraction and retention. To that end, a portion of Ms. Sprague’s focus will be to design, develop and pilot a “community concierge” program to provide comprehensive information and personalized services designed to ensure those new to Greater Mankato are able to quickly feel comfortable in the community, resulting in greater retention of new workforce talent.

Ms. Sprague’s educational background (a degree in Mass Communications from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with an emphasis in Public Relations) coupled with her acclaimed and impactful work for the past eight years as Senior District Manager of Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest, adeptly equip her to serve the Greater Mankato business community in this role. Her ability to build new relationships, strategically start and target solutions, grow programs and extensive work recruiting and mobilizing volunteers are all well-established and will play an integral part in her new role.

“Whether self-described or by others who have worked closely with Ms. Sprague, her energy and commitment to bring mutual benefit to the relationships she forms will be fully appreciated by the businesses in the Greater Mankato regional marketplace and Greater Mankato Growth,” said Jonathan Zierdt, President and CEO of Greater Mankato Growth, Inc. “She begins on day one, not only with tremendous skills and knowledge, but a depth of community insight and relationships from which we will all benefit.”

“When I moved to Greater Mankato in 2005, I experienced the importance of establishing relationships in the community. I look forward to working with existing and new businesses to provide resources and professional services ensuring our local businesses can take advantage of all the opportunities and connections our community has to offer,” said Ms. Sprague.
