Large Crowd at Third Greater Mankato Songs on the Lawn
(June 20, 2013) MANKATO, MINN. – The lawn was packed despite the heat at the third Songs on the Lawn of the season today, Thursday, June 20. The event, presented by Xcel Energy, featured live music of The Pickup Boys entertaining the crowd. The children enjoyed coloring, tossing bean bags and many other activities provided by the YMCA and Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota.
Music by The Frye will close out the 10th annual Songs on the Lawn Thursday, June 27. This summer event continues to have great support among the community. It is held every Thursday in June from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of Civic Center Plaza with free admission and parking in the Cherry Street ramps.
A variety of delicious food was sold this season by area vendors including: Pub500, Tavern on the Avenue, Culver’s Frozen Custard, The Loose Moose Saloon, Sodexo, Olives, Buffalo Wild Wings, Number 4 American Bar & Kitchen, Hy-Vee, Neighbor’s Italian Bistro, Dino’s Gourmet Pizzeria and Angie’s Kettle Corn.
