Mankato Marathon is a Weekend for Everyone

MANKATO, Minn.—More than just great races are planned for the weekend of the eighth annual Mankato Marathon, presented by Mayo Clinic Health System, Oct. 21-22.

The Mankato Marathon weekend schedule is outlined below:

Saturday, Oct. 21
Scheels Sport & Health Expo

  • 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Myers Field House, Minnesota State University, Mankato

Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic Speaker Series

  • 12:30 to 3:15 p.m. in Myers Field House, MSU, Mankato
    • 12:30 p.m. Anne Harguth, RDN, and Dr. Kristen Steidl, Mayo Clinic Health System
    • 1:30 p.m. Heather Kampf, the University of Minnesota’s most decorated women’s track athlete, children session
    • 2 p.m. Dr. Scott Stevens, Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Specialist at the Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic
    • 2:30 p.m. Keynote Heather Kampf: “Getting Back Up After You Fall Down”

Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry Toddler Trot*

  • 1 p.m. at MSU, Mankato

Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry Diaper Dash*

  • 1:10 p.m. at MSU, Mankato

"My Bold Walk*

  • 1:30 p.m. at MSU, Mankato

Mankato Family YMCA KidsK*

  • 2:45 p.m. kids ages seven to 12 at MSU, Mankato
  • 3 p.m. for kids ages six and under at MSU, Mankato

Pork Power 5K*

  • 4 p.m. at MSU, Mankato

 

Sunday, Oct. 22

Profinium 10K*

  • 7:30 a.m. at MSU, Mankato

Full Marathon, Relay Marathon and Half Marathon*

  • 8 a.m. at MSU, Mankato

Post Race Festivities

  • 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Front Street in the City Center
    • Live music from The Jeremy Poland Band
    • A free beer for runners from Mankato Brewery

*The start line for all races is at MSU, Mankato campus parking lot 21, located on the corner of Warren Street and Stadium Road.

Registration for all Mankato Marathon races ends Oct. 20. For any races that are not completely full, race registration will reopen from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Scheels Sport & Health Expo in Myers Field House at MSU, Mankato.

About the 2017 Mankato Marathon:
On October 21-22, 2017 Visit Mankato and Final Stretch will host the eighth annual Mankato Marathon. This accredited race is a qualifying event for the prestigious Boston Marathon and is projected to have an eighth-year attendance of 5,000 runners. The event will continually grow to have significant economic impact in the community and already has incredible local sponsorship, with Mayo Clinic Health System leading a long list of area businesses.
