Mankorah Coed Volleyball Tournament Returns to Greater Mankato

Visit Mankato

MANKATO, Minn. (January 22, 2019) —One of Minnesota’s largest adult volleyball tournaments returns to greater Mankato for its fifth straight year. The Mankorah Coed Volleyball Tournament is a two-day event held on February 16-17, 2019 attracting teams of various competition levels throughout Minnesota and surrounding states including Iowa, Wisconsin and Nebraska. Last year, the double-elimination tournament brought together 68 teams and more than 400 players; a 150% increase from 2015 when the tournament was established in the greater Mankato area to continue a volleyball tradition originating in Decorah, Iowa.

Kelcey Woods-Nord, one of the three voluntary hosts for the co-ed tournament stated, "It's really exciting the way MN has embraced this tournament. We moved it up here because it was one of our favorite times to play - there are just so many teams and it brings a lot of the volleyball community together in one place.” Woods-Nord is joined by two other volunteer hosts, Travis Anderson and Josh Splinter, who have all been a part of the Minnesota Volleyball community and are the driving force behind bringing the competition to the greater Mankato.

Teams are encouraged to register by January 23, 2019, to secure their place for the pool-play tournament and player party held in downtown Mankato. Tournament hosts may be contacted at mankorahvolleyball@gmail.com and registration and event details can be found on the Mankorah Coed Volleyball Tournament website at mankorah.com.
