Regional Economic Development Alliance Welcomes City of North Mankato
Greater Mankato Growth (GMG), along with the current partners of the Regional Economic Development Alliance (REDA) are excited to announce the City of North Mankato will be joining the partnership on July 1, 2014. North Mankato joins existing REDA members: the cities of Eagle Lake, Lake Crystal, Le Sueur, Madison Lake, Mankato, Saint Peter and Blue Earth County.
In 2009, the REDA began with a group of communities and counties joining together with GMG in business attraction and development efforts. By working together, the group is able to efficiently provide regional and individual city, county and Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) information to businesses interested in the marketplace. As a result of promoting the individual strengths of each community, along with the combined assets of the regional marketplace, all experience success.
“Having the City of North Mankato join REDA is a testament to the alliance, as well as to the wisdom and effectiveness of working together for the betterment of the regional marketplace” said Greater Mankato Growth President & CEO Jonathan Zierdt. “The model we have in REDA is fairly unique and continues to raise Greater Mankato’s visibility not only within the state, but nationally and internationally as well. With North Mankato joining the partnership, there is boundless potential for growth and success of business development in the region.”
“The City of North Mankato’s Port Authority Commission is pleased to join REDA and join forces with all partners” said Dave Arnold, President of the North Mankato Port Authority. “We believe collaboration is vital as we progress into a new age of economic development and that by leveraging the assets of the entire region, all benefit.”
