Second Annual Gather in the GreenSeam Kicks Off September 14
MANKATO, Minn.—Presented by Blue Earth County Soybean and Corn Growers Association and their checkoff, Gather in the GreenSeam is a celebration of the entire spectrum of people, organizations and businesses that make this area the most diverse agricultural region in the country.
Gather in the GreenSeam is a fun 30-day celebration that follows the heart of the harvest season September 14 through October 14.
“Last year’s Gather in the GreenSeam weekends were a great success, with 22 partners helping promote Greater Mankato’s rich ag history and its exciting future. We’re looking forward to an extended month-long celebration this year,” said Carrie Kijenski, Visit Mankato marketing and communications director.
Kicking off the first weekend event is Indian Island Winery’s Annual Grape Stomp & Vendor Show, Minnesota State University, Mankato Harvest Bowl, a Taste and Tour Old Town, featuring the Old Town Art Fair, farm-to-table meal, Seeds of Old Town Community Mural painting, incentives at local shops, and more, and Chankaska Creek Ranch & Winery’s Uncorked event. Throughout the month-long celebration, experience other events like fall festivals, Oktoberfests, grape stomps, farmers markets, and more. Get in on farm tours and combine rides Oct. 13-14. A plethora of other family fall favorites are jam-packed throughout the celebration.
Community partners will provide an ag-related special, activity, service or educational component during this timeframe so visitors can look forward to an array of experiences. For all activities and events, visit gatherinthegreenseam.com.
