Second Songs on the Lawn a Hit


(June 13, 2013) MANKATO, MINN. – Summer was in the air at the second Greater Mankato Songs on the Lawn of the season today, Thursday, June 13, at the Civic Center Plaza. Families, co-workers and friends came to lunch in the sunshine with music from the returning band, The DW3, delicious food and activities. Kids enjoyed playing hopscotch, blowing bubbles and creating crafts with Mankato Family YMCA and Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota.

Lunch and snacks were sold by a variety of local vendors including: Neighbor’s Italian Bistro, Sodexo, Number 4 American Bar & Kitchen, Hy-Vee, Olives, The Loose Moose Saloon, Culver’s Frozen Custard, Pub500, Dino’s Gourmet Pizzeria, Angie’s Kettle Corn, Buffalo Wild Wings and Tavern on the Avenue.

Entertainment will be provided by The Pickup Boys, Thursday, June 20, at the season’s third Songs on the Lawn. This is the 10th annual Greater Mankato Songs on the Lawn. It continues to be a popular summer tradition that offers free live entertainment, great food and fun activities. 

Greater Mankato Songs on the Lawn, presented by Xcel Energy, is held every Thursday in June from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Civic Center Plaza.
