{"id":7379,"date":"2021-03-12T16:38:39","date_gmt":"2021-03-12T22:38:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greatermankatoblog.com\/?p=7379"},"modified":"2024-01-04T14:47:00","modified_gmt":"2024-01-04T20:47:00","slug":"mn-governor-announces-changes-to-covid-restrictions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greatermankato.com\/so\/blog\/mn-governor-announces-changes-to-covid-restrictions\/","title":{"rendered":"MN Governor Announces Changes to COVID restrictions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today, Governor Walz announced reduced COVID-19 restrictions (Executive Order 21-11) for social gatherings, increases to business capacity limits, and increases to large venue capacity limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/eo-21-11-final.pdf\">EO 21-11 Final<\/a><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/eo-21-11-final.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button\" download>Download<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A summary was provided from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic development:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Effective Monday, March 15<sup>th<\/sup>, at 12:00pm (Noon):<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make it easier to safely gather with family, we are doing the following:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Social gatherings:\u00a0<\/strong>Up to\u00a0<strong>50 people outdoors<\/strong>\u00a0ama\u00a0<strong>15 people for indoor<\/strong>\u00a0gatherings, both without household limits.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Religious services:\u00a0<\/strong>Remove capacity limits\u00a0but social distancing required.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<p>To support small businesses:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Bars and restaurants:&nbsp;<\/strong>Increasing allowable occupancy to&nbsp;<strong>75%&nbsp;indoors<\/strong>, up from 50%, with a limit of 250 people.&nbsp;Outdoor spaces limited to 250 people total with 6 feet of distance required between parties. Bar seating increases to parties of 4.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Salons\/barbers:&nbsp;<\/strong>Remove the occupancy limit,&nbsp;but social distancing required.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Gyms\/fitness centers\/pools:&nbsp;<\/strong>Increasing allowable occupancy to&nbsp;<strong>50%,<\/strong>&nbsp;up from 25%. Outdoor classes can increase to&nbsp;<strong>50 people<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Entertainment venues:&nbsp;<\/strong>Increasing allowable occupancy to&nbsp;<strong>50%,<\/strong>&nbsp;up from 25%, both indoors and outdoors, with a limit of 250.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With the progress we\u2019ve made, we can adjust guidelines for large venues&nbsp;as well. All venues can open at 50% capacity&nbsp;of up to 250 people, and now, venues with capacity over 500 can add additional guests,&nbsp;<strong>effective April 1:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Seated outdoor venues&nbsp;<\/strong>can add an additional&nbsp;<strong>25%&nbsp;<\/strong>of their capacity over 500, with a limit of&nbsp;<strong>10,000 people.&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Non-seated outdoor venues&nbsp;<\/strong>can add an additional&nbsp;<strong>15%&nbsp;<\/strong>of their capacity over 500, with a limit of&nbsp;<strong>10,000 people<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Seated indoor venues&nbsp;<\/strong>can add an additional&nbsp;<strong>15%&nbsp;<\/strong>of their capacity over 500, with a limit of&nbsp;<strong>3,000 people.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Non-seated indoor venues&nbsp;<\/strong>can add an additional&nbsp;<strong>10%<\/strong>&nbsp;of their capacity over 500, with a limit of&nbsp;<strong>1,500 people.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Changes to the guidelines on working from home:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Effective April 15<\/strong>, work from home will be strongly recommended for those who can, but&nbsp;<strong>not required<\/strong>. All employers should continue to accommodate employees who wish to work from home, and have plans to keep employees safe in the office in a socially-distant manner.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re not out of the woods yet, so of course,&nbsp;here\u2019s what isn\u2019t changing:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Minnesotans should\u00a0<strong>keep wearing masks<\/strong>. We know that masks work.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Continue to socially distance.\u00a0<\/strong>All of our guidance today\u00a0<strong>requires venues to maintain 6 feet of distance between guests<\/strong>\u00a0to reduce the spread of the virus.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Our COVID response remains robust.<\/strong>\u00a0If you need a test, you can get one free at a community testing site.
