Songs on the Lawn Proves to be an Annual Hit

(June 5, 2014) MANKATO, MINN. -  Greater Mankato Growth hosted the first Songs on the Lawn of the season, presented by Xcel Energy, on Thursday, June 5. String Theory offered folksy musical entertainment throughout the event and area businesses lined the sidewalks with their booths. Friends and families packed Civic Center Plaza, lounging on the grass and engaging in activities with their children, while enjoying the new CityArt.

 

Attendees enjoyed lunch and snacks from various vendors including: Angie’s Popcorn, Buffalo Wild Wings, Culver’s Frozen Custard, Dino’s Gourmet Pizzeria, Hy-Vee, Neighbor’s Italian Bistro, Number 4 American Bar & Kitchen, Olives, Pub 500, Sodexo, Tavern on the Avenue and The Loose Moose Saloon & Conference Center.

 

Songs on the Lawn is presented by Xcel Energy and is made possible with the support of our sponsors: Blue Earth County Library, Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment, KMSU, MTU Onsite Energy, Pepsi-Cola of Mankato Inc. and Radio Mankato. Songs on the Lawn takes place every Thursday in June from 11 am to 1 pm at Civic Center Plaza in front of Mankato’s Intergovernmental Center. Admission as well as parking available by the Civic Center and in the Cherry Street ramps, are free of charge. Please be advised that Hickory Street directly in front of the Intergovernmental Center will be closed from approximately 8 am to 2 pm.
