Trudie Gustafson appointed new Vice President for Greater Mankato Growth, Inc.

MANKATO, MINN. (February 20, 2014) – Trudie Gustafson will join Greater Mankato Growth, Inc. (GMG,
Inc.) as its new Vice President. Gustafson will retire from Taylor Corporation, after 37 years, and begin her work with GMG, Inc. on Monday, March 31st.
Gustafson has been with Taylor Corporation since 1977, serving as a Vice President for the corporation beginning in 1999, and as General Manager for three different business divisions since 2004 with her most recent role as General Manager of Carlson Craft.
Gustafson, served on the Greater Mankato Economic Development Corporation (GMEDC) Board of Directors prior to the merger of GMEDC with the Mankato Area Chamber of Commerce in 2007 to form Greater Mankato Growth, Inc. (GMG, Inc.). After which she remained on the GMG, Inc. Board until 2011 where she served as the Chair of the Board from 2009 – 2010. She becomes the second Past Chair to retire from a long and successful career as a senior executive in local private business and join the staff of Greater Mankato Growth, Inc. Tom Riley, the Chair of the Board for the GMEDC from 2004 - 2006 joined the staff in 2008 as the organization’s New Business Development Director, a position he still holds 6 years later.

Gustafson, a proven and respected business and community leader, will bring extensive senior leadership experience to GMG, Inc. Her breadth of expertise ranges from strategic planning & operational management, to valued customer and partner relationships, to talent development, alignment and optimization.
Gustafson will be responsible for the daily operations of the organization, its integration, efficiencies and impact across all three business units – Greater Mankato Growth, Visit Mankato and City Center Partnership – in a role one might refer to as a “chief operating officer.” She will focus on the performance and impact of our programs and services, and our people; ensuring GMG Inc. is efficient and effective. Gustafson will also work closely on and lead a number of the organization’s key strategic endeavors.
