{"id":39057,"date":"2024-11-25T12:50:57","date_gmt":"2024-11-25T18:50:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greatermankato.com\/?p=39057"},"modified":"2024-11-25T12:51:15","modified_gmt":"2024-11-25T18:51:15","slug":"mankato-clinic-foundation-awards-79000-in-q4-grants-to-support-regional-health-and-wellness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greatermankato.com\/zh\/blog\/mankato-clinic-foundation-awards-79000-in-q4-grants-to-support-regional-health-and-wellness\/","title":{"rendered":"Mankato Clinic Foundation Awards $79,000 in Q4 Grants to Support Regional Health and Wellness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MANKATO (October 18, 2024) \u2014<\/strong> To support health and wellness in our region, the Mankato Clinic Foundation has approved $79,000 in grants to community organizations during quarter four.<\/p>\n<p>Grants approved in quarter four are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mankato Area Public Schools \u2013 Connecting Kids scholarships for out-of-school activities \u2013 $5,000<\/li>\n<li>Saint Peter Recreation Department \u2013 Fall Music Series for Seniors \u2013 $1,000<\/li>\n<li>Lutheran Social Services of MN \u2013 Meals for High-Risk Seniors \u2013 $5,000<\/li>\n<li>WellShare International \u2013 Project Well-Being which connects community health workers to patients to address social drivers of health \u2013 $35,000<\/li>\n<li>House of Hope \u2013 Non-residential treatment for people with substance use disorder and mental health diagnoses \u2013 $6,000<\/li>\n<li>Good Counsel Learning Center \u2013 Tutoring for youth and adults who are English language learners \u2013 $5,000<\/li>\n<li>Children\u2019s Museum of Southern MN \u2013 Healthy Me Exhibit \u2013 $7,500<\/li>\n<li>Southern MN Crisis Nursery \u2013 Safe place for children when families are in crisis \u2013 $3,000<\/li>\n<li>Mankato Symphony \u2013 Music on the Hill Chamber Music Concert \u2013 $500<\/li>\n<li>Nicollet Public Schools \u2013 Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program-$1,000<\/li>\n<li>ECHO Food Shelf-Freezer to increase capacity \u2013 $10,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mankato Clinic physicians provide the majority of the foundation funding as a way to give back to the community and support organizations that strive to improve health and wellness in the communities they serve. In the last 10 years, the Mankato Clinic Foundation has provided more than $2 million in scholarships and grants to worthwhile organizations and programs.<\/p>\n<p>Grants are awarded on a quarterly basis and are considered through an application process. The next grant application deadline is December 1.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Mankato Clinic Foundation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A small, dedicated group of physicians started the Mankato Clinic Foundation in 1965, making it one of the oldest foundations in Minnesota. Since that time, the foundation has expanded its reach by funding local programs, scholarships and organizations that improve people\u2019s health and wellness.
