Announcing the Inaugural Great Northern Viking Festival in Mankato, MN – October 19th & 20th, 2024

Vikings are set to descend on Mankato for the first-ever Great Northern Viking Festival on October 19th and 20th! This brand-new event will immerse attendees in the world of Viking history, featuring live reenactments, craft vendors, traditional Nordic beverages, and thrilling combat demonstrations. With something for the whole family, this is an unmissable weekend of culture and celebration.

While the exact festival location will be revealed closer to the date, early ticket buyers will be the first to know! The festival promises an exciting lineup of experiences, including the highly anticipated “A Night in Valhalla” on Saturday evening, a 21+ event offering live music, Viking-themed food, and exclusive VIP perks.

Event Highlights Include:

Viking Encampment & Live Combat – Witness how the Vikings lived, fought, and crafted with immersive reenactments and exciting combat displays.
Handcrafted Viking Goods – Shop from a variety of vendors offering unique, Viking-themed products, from weapons and jewelry to art and clothing.
River Valley Raptors Show – Learn about the role of birds of prey in Viking history and meet live raptors up close.
Exclusive Nordic Beverages – Sample special brews like mead, Nordic ales, and more, including reserves crafted by local favorites like Paddlefish Brewery.

Family-Friendly Fun – Interactive activities for children, with free admission for kids 7 and under, ensuring fun for the whole family.

Festival hours are 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday, with “A Night in Valhalla” taking place on Saturday evening from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, offering a unique after-hours Viking experience for adults.

Ticket Information:

General Festival Admission (Early Bird): $15 for adults, $10 for youth (ages 8-17), and kids 7 and under are free.
A Night in Valhalla VIP Combo Passes and General Admission tickets are available online now. Early buyers will be the first to receive location details and additional VIP perks like camping and exclusive Mead Hall access!

To make this exciting event a success, the Great Northern Viking Festival is seeking dedicated volunteers to assist in various areas such as event setup, guest services, and more.
