B the Light Hires Inaugural Executive Director!

Mankato, November 30, 2023 – B the Light, a growing non-profit, dedicated to providing hope, support, and connections for breast cancer survivors in surrounding communities, proudly announces the appointment of Laura Doyen as its first Executive Director.

Doyen brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously owned and successfully operated her own business. This, in combination with a rich history of community involvement, volunteerism, board service, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others, uniquely positions her to lead B the Light to new heights, expanding its reach and impact.

Doyen is committed to advancing B the Light’s vision of creating a community where breast cancer survivors thrive, find strength in their journey, and receive the support they need beyond diagnosis and treatment.

“We are so excited to have Laura on board. She has such a vision of how we can take what we have already built and expand it to help even more breast cancer survivors. Laura brings an amazing amount of energy and passion to this role, and she has witnessed firsthand the impact our programs have had on survivors.” said Amber Melby, Survivor and Founder of B the Light.

Doyen expressed her excitement for the new role, stating, “I am honored to be the first Executive Director. The work that B the Light does is incredibly important for survivors. I am eager to get started collaborating with community partners, the wonderful and passionate team at B the Light and enhancing our programs for those on the journey to survivorship.”

In her role, Doyen will oversee the strategic direction of the organization, lead fundraising initiatives, and foster community partnerships to further strengthen B the Light’s commitment to supporting breast cancer survivors.
