MANKATO, MN (January 6, 2025) – The Mankato Figure Skating Club is thrilled to host the 21st annual Bend of the River Figure Skating Competition on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at All Seasons Arena. The event will showcase skaters from across Minnesota and neighboring states, drawing competitors of all ages and levels to the heart of southern Minnesota for a day of artistry and athleticism on the ice.

With judges traveling from across the United States, the Bend of the River competition promises to be a premier event in the region, offering skaters the opportunity to perform in front of nationally recognized officials. The competition is a testament to the strong support of Mankato’s skating community and its commitment to fostering talent in this sport.

This year’s competition is made possible in part by a grant from Visit Mankato, underscoring the community’s enthusiasm for events that bring vibrancy and visitors to the area. The support extends beyond financial contributions, with local businesses and volunteers playing integral roles in ensuring the event’s success.

The Bend of the River competition is just one highlight in what will be a milestone year for the Mankato Figure Skating Club. In 2025, the Club is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its annual ice show, a cherished tradition that has delighted audiences for decades.

“Our 50th annual ice show and the Bend of the River competition highlight how far the Club has come and the bright future ahead,” added Sarah Otto. “We are so proud to bring events like these to life, as they continue to unite our community and elevate the sport of figure skating.”

The Bend of the River Figure Skating Competition is open to the public, and spectators are encouraged to come and cheer on the skaters. Admission is free, and the event runs from 9 am to 6 pm, featuring a full day of captivating performances.
