Mankato, MN (October 25, 2023) – Greater Mankato Growth will be sending a cohort of nine individuals to the Minnesota Young American Leaders Program. Nominations and applications have opened and are due by October 31 for nominations and November 14 for applications.
“Most leadership programs of this caliber come with a huge financial commitment. We are so grateful for the investment made by the Itasca Project which allows all members of our cohort to attend this program free of charge,” said Ryan Vesey, Economic Development & Research Manager of Greater Mankato Growth.
MYALP will hold its fifth annual conference from May 19 to 22, 2024, at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. This year, MYALP will be welcoming cohorts from Greater Mankato, Greater Fargo-Moorhead, Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul, Greater Rochester, Greater St. Cloud, and Northeast Minnesota. There is no cost to participants to attend this program – lodging and travel expenses are also covered.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with leaders from across the state of Minnesota and collaborate on meaningful case studies and initiatives that are impactful personally, professionally, and within your community,” said Nate Olsen, 2022 participant and Vice President – Business Banker at Bremer Bank
Since 2015, the Itasca Project has sent cohorts of ten rising leaders to Harvard Business School (HBS) for the Young American Leaders Program. In 2019, the Itasca Project partnered with the Center for Integrative Leadership at the University of Minnesota to create the Minnesota Young American Leaders Program, which is inspired by the HBS Program. The two programs share themes, content, and some speakers. Both focus on the US and regional competitiveness, shared prosperity, and cross-sector collaborations, and they seek to create relationships among civically focused rising leaders in our region.
