Mankato Clinic has remodeled Urgency Care at the Main Street location with six large exam rooms featuring bedside cardiac monitoring, stretchers and overhead procedure lights, a triage exam room and highly visible nurses station.

March 16, 2023 (MANKATO) — Mankato Clinic has renovated Urgency Care at the Main Street location to better meet the medical needs of our patients and community, improve patient comfort and care, and create a more modern, collaborative and efficient workspace for providers and staff.

Urgency Care provides medical care for the majority of illnesses, injuries and conditions seven days a week, with evening and weekend hours. Patients can expect a highly trained team of physicians, practitioners and nurses to provide medical care.

“We offer walk-in care with shorter wait times and lower costs than hospital emergency rooms. Urgency Care facilities also free up emergency room resources for people who truly need life-saving care,” Katie Anderson, MD, Mankato Clinic Urgency Care, says. “For optimal patient safety, a nurses station is centered within the department and highly visible to the triage and exam rooms.”

With bedside cardiac monitoring, Urgency Care can treat patients with abdominal pain and chest pain who have no history of heart issues. The cardiac monitor in the nurses station alerts nurses and providers to abnormal rhythms, heart and breathing rates, blood pressure and oxygen levels.

Offering full lab services, phlebotomists visit the patient in the exam room to complete tests for strep, COVID and other infections. Nursing staff will call with results and necessary instructions. Urgency Care also offers access to full diagnostic imaging services to include x-rays, CT scans, MRI imaging and ultrasounds.

In addition to walk-in care, same-day appointments may be available by calling Urgency Care. For services and hours, visit www.mankatoclinic.com/specialties/urgent-caremankatolclinic.com/.
