Mankato, MN (February 13, 2024) The Mankato Clinic Foundation has awarded $25,000 to the Educare Foundation to support initiatives and programs in Mankato Area Public Schools. The Mankato Clinic Foundation has awarded Educare over $125,000 in grants since 2019. Mankato Clinic Foundation grants will help support social, emotional and equitable learning tools and programs.

“This grant from the Mankato Clinic Foundation is a testament to their commitment to education and the betterment of our community,” said Dr. Susan Klenk, Board Chair of Educare Foundation. “With their support, we will be able to expand our reach and impact, providing even more kids with tools and resources to impact the education and growth of our students.”

Educare is a non-profit, public entity which provides financial support to Mankato Area Public Schools, beyond the normal operating budgets, for programs and activities that enhance educational opportunities for all students. Through this funding, Educare enables teachers to explore new ways to expand a world of learning for their students.

“The Mankato Clinic Foundation supports learning opportunities for our young people. By partnering with Educare, we gain insight into the needs of our students, teachers and schools so we can positively impact children, teens and families,” said Marcia Bahr, Mankato Clinic Foundation president.

In the past year, the grant from the Mankato Clinic Foundation played a pivotal role in enhancing the health and wellness of Mankato Area Public School students by supporting Ed Waltman mini grants and Initiative grants. With the Mankato Clinic grant, Educare was able to award a variety of grants including a sensory and calming room at Jefferson Elementary; the establishment of an outdoor classroom at the new Center For Learning, and specialized equipment for students with unique needs in our SUN program, enriching their outdoor experiences and fostering confidence.

The Mankato Clinic Foundation provides grants once a quarter to organizations and initiatives that promote and improve community health and wellness in the communities the clinic serves. Grants are awarded on a quarterly basis and are considered only through the application process. Applications are available at www.mankatoclinic.com/foundation-pages/mankato-clinic-foundation.
