Resources are available to businesses in Blue Earth and Nicollet County that were impacted by flooding between June 16 and July 4, 2024.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) has loans available to help those who suffered from physical damage or economic losses. Check your eligibility aquí.
Physical damage loans up to $2 million are available to business owners and include 12 months of deferred payment and 0% interest, followed by interest rates as low as 4% for for-profit businesses. The deadline to apply for physical damage loans through the SBA is September 30, 2024.
The Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) can help businesses recover from business interruption or lost revenue related to the flooding period experienced between June 16 through July 4, 2024. The deadline to apply for this working capital loan through the SBA is April 29, 2025.
The SBA has also opened a Business Recovery Center in Waterville to assist businesses with completing their disaster loan application, accept documents, and provide updates on an application’s status. The Business Recovery Center in Waterville is open 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 3 pm on Saturdays. It is located at 247 East Main Street in Waterville.
The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce’s Business Energy Efficiency Grant Program (BEEGP) is available to assist businesses with the cost of purchasing energy efficient appliances. Businesses must be a customer of Xcel Energy or CenterPoint Energy to qualify.
