Mankato, MN – On Sunday, August 3rd Twin Rivers Council for the Arts will host the Second Annual Art in the Garden, a unique experience for the whole family. This immersive event of music, art and refreshments is a fundraiser for Twin Rivers. Entrances to the event will be at the Broad Street entrance of the Hubbard House Gardens, 606 South Broad Street, and the Emy Frentz Building, 523 South Second Street. The event invites the public to enjoy an afternoon that mixes art, community and great food and drink.
This event is not a typical fundraiser. Just $20 to attend, the event is meant to be accessible to a broad audience of all ages. Artists will be making art throughout the gardens and invite participants to observe and interact with them. Alongside those artists, attendees will have opportunities to create. A Bloom Bar presented by Becky’s Floral will feature exotic and special blooms that participants can select to take for a special addition to their home. An all ages activity area will include multiple creative activities, including chalk and floral art.
Members of the Twilight Garden Club, who care for the Hubbard House gardens, will be on hand to answer questions about gardening and give tours of the gorgeous Hubbard House gardens. The Avant Garden fashion show at 2:30 p.m. will feature original clothing designs by local designer, Melissa Ketchum of Meli Made Artistry. Local artists will have their art displayed and available for purchase.
Music will be played throughout the event, starting with the amazing Stacy K, who will open the event with a set of her music. Pub 500 is providing original cocktails inspired by the garden at a cash bar. Attendees are invited to stop by the floral bouquet competition to vote for their favorite bouquets. Decorated lounging tents throughout the garden will be available for all to sit back, relax and enjoy, but attendees may also bring their own chairs.
And there is more! A games and activity area is available for children and adults and a silent auction will give attendees another way to give and possibly get a great prize.
Organizers are still willing to add bouquet competition participants. Amateur and professional bouquet artists are invited to compete to be Best in Show. All experience and age levels are welcome. Visit the link below for more information.
