[Mankato, MN) – Women in the construction industry are breaking barriers through a unique collaboration: Building the Tiny Home for the YWCA as part of the Trades Trailblazers initiative. YWCA Mankato, in partnership with APX Construction Group, has launched the 2024-2025 Trades Trailblazers program, which is open to middle school girls in Mankato, MN. This program brings together skilled tradeswomen, construction professionals, and community partners to build a functional, sustainable tiny home—supporting YWCA Mankato’s mission of housing and community empowerment.

Women in Construction Week runs from March 2-8, and we want to highlight the YWCA Trades Trailblazers. As part of this initiative, young women participate in the tiny home project once a month, gaining hands-on experience in construction.
