2026 Award Recipient
Each year, the Outstanding New Lawyer of the Year Award recognizes the exceptional achievements of one new lawyer. This year, we are proud to recognize Cody Booker for his collaboration, bar association involvement, and his work providing pro bono legal services and volunteering.

Cody Booker is a Partner at Maschka Personal Injury in Mankato, where he represents individuals and families in personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, medical malpractice, and other complex civil litigation matters throughout Minnesota and the Midwest. He has helped recover millions of dollars for injured clients and is recognized for providing compassionate, client-centered advocacy while pursuing meaningful results.

Beyond his practice, Cody is passionate about strengthening the legal profession throughout Greater Minnesota. He regularly collaborates with attorneys in solo and small firm practices, helping them navigate complex injury litigation while preserving the trusted relationships they have built with their clients and communities. Through this collaborative approach, Cody has helped expand access to experienced representation for injured Minnesotans regardless of where they live.

Cody has been an active leader within the Minnesota legal community. He serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Sixth District Bar Association and has been actively involved with the Minnesota State Bar Association, most recently presenting at the 2026 MSBA Solo Small Summit. Cody is also a member of the Minnesota Association for Justice, Iowa Association for Justice, Iowa State Bar Association, and Illinois State Bar Association. He is committed to fostering professionalism, encouraging attorney engagement, and supporting the next generation of Minnesota lawyers.

His dedication to service extends well beyond the practice of law. Cody serves as Board Chair of the Miracle League of North Mankato, where he helps create opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to experience the joy of baseball. He also serves as Chair of Greater Mankato Growth (GMG) Young Professionals, Advocacy Committee member for GMG, and as a committee member with the Greater Mankato Area United Way, providing pro bono legal advice and working alongside community leaders to strengthen the region through volunteerism, leadership development, and civic engagement.

Cody has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Minnesota Rising Star from 2024 through 2026. He lives in North Mankato with his wife, Macy, and their son, Owen, and remains committed to serving both the legal profession and the communities that have shaped his career.
