MANKATO, Minn. (January 12, 2022) — Registration for the 2022 Mankato Marathon presented by Mayo Clinic Health System opened in January with early bird pricing. Event organizers are working on new courses for 2022 races that include the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Marathon Relay, Northwestern Mutual 10K, Minnesota Pork Power 5K, and the YMCA KidsK. The Full Marathon courses will also be certified as a Boston Marathon-qualifying race. The Mankato Marathon is held annually on the 3rd Saturday in October and this year’s event will take place on October 14-15, 2022.

The Scheels Sport & Health Expo will kick off Marathon weekend at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center on Friday, October 14. Exhibitors will return for a more traditional expo, following a scaled down version of the event the past two years, giving participants an opportunity to interact with a variety of vendors offering information and activities to people picking up race and volunteer information packets. More than 8,000 runners attended the Expo in 2019 and event organizers are optimistic as preparations are underway for 2022.

“We received very good feedback from our participants in 2021, and we are excited to work through changes to the courses and other adjustments for an even better event for 2022,” said Joy Leafblad, Sports and Special Events Director of Visit Mankato.
