In Phase One (2018-2019), the state is opening up nearly $160,000 in grant applications for Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in public places, workplaces, and multi-unit dwellings. The request for proposals (RFP) has full details on who may apply, grant match amounts, and other information that will help applicants submit a proposal.Level 2 charging stations, powered by 240 volts of alternating current, provides charging services to EV drivers likely to park at the station for 15 minutes or longer.
Examples of public place locations include local government (municipality, township, county) facilities, K-12 schools, higher education institution parking facilities, and grocery and retail stores, where the charging stations are available to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Workplace charging applications may be for employee or fleet use. Multi-unit dwelling installation sites include apartment and condominium parking facilities.
Grant proposal submissions are due Sept. 5, 2018.
