Our elected officials have the power to make decisions that impact the vitality of our regional marketplace. It is because of this reason that elections are one of the most important and effective ways citizens can make their voices heard.

On Tuesday, November 3 residents in the Mankato Area Public School District will be asked to select from seven candidates to fill four positions on the School Board. Additionally, Saint Peter residents will be asked to elect a mayor and three City Council members along with their school board.

Mankato Area Public School Board Online Candidate Profiles

Candidates participating in the race for Mankato Area Public Schools Board were asked to complete an online profile, including biographical information, as well as respond to a questionnaire. Rather than focusing on specific issues, the questionnaire enables voters to gauge a candidate’s perspective on characteristics that are essential for effective public servants and that will represent the area well in areas not only impacting business, but the overall vitality of the region at large. What You Need to Know to Cast a Ballot

Hours – Polling places are open from 7:00 am – 8:00 pm on election day, November 3.

Voter Registration – You need to be a registered voter to cast a ballot. You can check your registration status here. If you’re not registered, you can do so at your polling place on election day with appropriate proof of residence. You can learn more about registering to vote on election day here.

Employee Time Off for Voting

Minnesota voters have the right to be absent from work for the purpose of voting without reduction to their pay, personal leave, or vacation time on election day for the time necessary to appear at their polling place, cast a ballot and return to work.
